Choose your cancellation policy

Whimstay gives hosts the ability to select from four cancellation policy options, detailed below. Selecting a more flexible policy tends to increase conversions, meaning more bookings for you.

The policy you select today will be your company's default policy, and will apply to all properties in your Whimstay portal, whether current or added in the future, until or unless a different policy is set at the property-level.

You will have the ability to select different cancellation policies for individual properties within your Whimstay portal.
Policy	Guest Refund	Host Payout
Partial	Free cancellation for 24 hours. After that, guests can cancel 7 or more days before check-in for a 50% refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests receive no refund if cancelling fewer than 7 days before check-in. *Bookings made within 72 hours of check-in are non-refundable.	Host receives 50% payout if guest cancels 7 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 7 days before check-in.
Flexible	Free cancellation for 24 hours. After that, guests can cancel 7 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests receive no refund if cancelling fewer than 7 days before check-in. *Bookings made within 72 hours of check-in are non-refundable.	Host receives no payout if guest cancels 7 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 7 days before check-in.
Standard	Free cancellation for 24 hours. After that, guests can cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests receive no refund if cancelling fewer than 14 days before check-in. *Bookings made within 72 hours of check-in are non-refundable.	Host receives no payout if guest cancels 14 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 14 days before check-in.
Moderate	Free cancellation for 24 hours. After that, guests can cancel 30 or more days before check-in for a full refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests receive no refund if cancelling fewer than 30 days before check-in. *Bookings made within 72 hours of check-in are non-refundable.	Host receives no payout if guest cancels 30 or more days before check-in. Host receives 100% of payout if guest cancels fewer than 30 days before check-in.
